Mall Food Madness

CREATIVE DIRECTION, WEB DESIGN

In this multi-story editorial package exploring the rise, fall, and hanging-on-by-a-string of the American mall, Eater explores the nostalgia such a space holds for many people and comments on the role it’s playing in modern day food culture. I chose an art direction that hinges on the visual motifs present throughout malls and mall food courts of the late ‘80s and ‘90s. Working with illustrator Pablo Espinosa Gutiérrez and animator Alfredo Villa, we set to capture snapshots that felt immersive and fun like any teenager’s first visit alone to the mall with friends.
