Eater chats with food icon Molly Baz ahead of the release of her second cookbook on her career. I developed the feature’s look and feel, and oversaw its editorial art process from start to finish.

Made Here: Recipes & Reflections from New York City’s Asian Communities

In collaboration with NYC-based organization Send Chinatown Love, I co-authored this 352-page cookbook and anthology. Receiving a James Beard Award nomination in the U.S. Foodways category, the book catalogs recipes and origin stories of over 40 AAPI restaurants across New York City. Additionally, Made Here was praised as a best book of 2023 by The New York Times, Bon Appetit, The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, and Forbes.

Mall Food Madness

Creative direction, Web design

In this deep-dive on the American mall, Eater relishes in Rainforest Café and Mrs. Fields-laden nostalgia, reports on the dumpling chain rivalry pitting two LA malls against one another, and definitively ranks the best and worst mall food smells. Overseeing the editorial art process, I commissioned illustration and animation, and incorporated both into the package’s design.

Best New Restaurants 2023

Creative direction, Web design

From coast to coast, Eater celebrates the most innovative, exciting new restaurants in this annual feature. In addition to developing and designing the web experience, I commissioned photography from local talent in each respective city.

Eater’s Guide to Having a Good Wedding

Ahead of wedding season, Eater published an all-encompassing guide on tips and tricks to serving food that doesn’t suck, throwing the best after party, and dishing on other peoples’ horror stories and nuptial successes. In addition to producing the photoshoot, I oversaw creation of all editorial art and web design of the package itself.

We Get Through: A Pandemy Cookbook

During the pandemic, I was hired by independent print house Saalt Press to style and shoot a cookbook full of community-submitted recipes and stories around coming together and combatting difficult times through food.

But wait!
